University of Liverpool "The University of Liverpool is a public university based in the city of Liverpool, England. Founded as a college in 1881, it gained its royal charter in 1903 with the ability to award degrees and is also known to be one of the six original «red brick» civic universities. The university is mainly based around a single urban campus approximately five minutes’ walk from Liverpool City Centre, at the top of Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant. Occupying 100 acres, it contains 192 non-residential buildings that house 69 lecture theatres, 114 teaching areas and state-of-the-art research facilities."
My school
"The university is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide according to Academic ranking of world universities and has previously been ranked within the top 100 university globally by the guide. The University of Liverpool Management School is a world leading centre for management and leadership training, education and research. The School is one of an elite group of institutions worldwide to be AACSB Accredited."
My courses
"Here at University of Liverpool, and this this also the case in most of English universities, courses and modules are worth 15 English credits, which corresponds to 7,5 French credits, hence the fact that I followed only 4 courses for this semester. I only had 10 hours of class per week, but each hour in class required at least 2 hours of personal work at home. We have a consequent amount of “readings” to do before each class."
Activities for international students
"There is not really a « team spirit » for the management school, or for any other department. Instead of that they deal a lot with the system of “guilds”. A guild is a small group of student gathering together according to one common interest. There are more than two hundred guilds in Liverpool, from the very classic poker or theatre guild to more odd ones, like archery or cooking guilds. More generally speaking, people here are surprisingly friendly towards foreigners, and participating in activities is something that comes very naturally. Also, a lot of Erasmus events and parties are frequently organized throughout the semester."

My advice-tips
"The city is great but don’t forget to travel around UK! Scotland is beautiful and only 2 hours away. You can also find very cheap flights to visit Ireland. I recommend purchasing the 30 pounds railcard that will allow you to take the train with huge discount. Easily profitable in the long term. Also, don’t take an accommodation with french students, that would be the best way not to improve your english. Don’t be afraid to struggle a little bit with the accent (the famous “scouse”) !"
